Rin's Bedroom

Anju blinked. "Like what?" She continued to think of her plan to avoid the possibility of being taken away.

"Anju, may I ask you a very serious question?" Rin responded, his reddish-brown hues calm and serious. His heart was beating too quickly for his liking, he realized.

Anju turned her view over to him, she now was very curious to what this question could be. "Yeah . . go ahead."

"Am I just your friend?" He asked, bowing his head. He didn't want to look up at her, but wanted to keep on breathing, at least. How stalker-like he sounded, he didn't know. But he had finally gotten it out of his heart, which was good.

For now, anyhow.

Anju took a moment then smiled. "You're a really close friend of mine, someone i trust." She nodded sure of her words, but was curious why he brought this up.

Rin nodded, finally looking up. "Thank you, Anju." He replied, then sipped his Tea, trying to forget what had happened a minute before.

Anju was confused and continued to watch him. "Why bring that up?" She asked not wanting to drop the subject.

"I just..." Rin murmured, looking away, "Was curious..."

Anju narrowed her eyes a little in suspicion. "Of what?"

"If you had the feelings for me as much as I do to you..." Rin trailed off, mentally clapping a hand over his mouth. There was times, he realized, where his Father was right about him speaking his mind way too freely.

A hint of a blush mad way to his face, and he gulped the Tea down quickly, almost scalding his tongue.

Anju blinked re-wording the sentence, she blinked again and tilted her head in thought. Until she finally realized what he meant Anju's eyes widened a little and red had found itself on her face. She couldn't find words to speak, no actions to play. She sat there staring, she felt her heart race and her mind fog.

'Way to go, Rin. Awkward!' He thought as he looked away to the right, not meeting her eyes.

Anju blinked again then started to think, she rubbed her chin and realized she had been getting feelings for Rin. But didn't want to say anything, she glanced to the wall for a moment and took in a breath. "Uh . . i . "

Rin looked upward, surprised she hadn't dashed out the door like crazy. He crossed his legs at the ankles, keeping his eyes on the girl.

Anju blushed only more finding it difficult to try and say what she wanted to. "I . . " She took out a breath. "Why is this so hard??" she whined a little and pouted childishly.

Rin chuckled lightly, thinking her pouting cute. "Anju..." He sighed, the blush coating his otherwise pale cheeks, were beginning to annoy him. My...

She blinked at the sound of her name and looked to Rin, still trying to figure out what she wanted to say.

"Since I have met you, I always thought that you would be only my friend." He took in a deep breath, then looked down. "I found out that was barely the case, however."

"How so?" She asked looking at him, she found this situation very confusing but was very curious of what would happen next.

"Because you've become more than just my friend." Rin's chest felt like it would explode, and he knew he had no chance. There must be someone else in her heart, as her reaction was the one in which he had calculated.

Anju watched him still quite not getting where he was getting at, she had no intelligence with what he was saying. "more than a friend?"

Rin just buried his head in his hands, looking up sullenly. "I like you, don't you understand?!" He finally let it out, then leaned back into the chair slowly, tasting the bitterness in his throat.

She stared at him for a moment, not used to his yelling. Until she heard his words, and froze plopping to her side. Her face was obviously a bright red, her mind raced with many thoughts.

Rin just was in his armchair, miserable that she had not said anything. He got up, poured another cup of Tea, then sighed. What a place to be in right now.

She turned her head muffling her words. "i l . .o . " No one could hear what she said, Anju was still red and her heart raced.
